Sorry if I got anyones hopes up. My .454 BFR is not fun to shoot with the rubber factory grips. I decided to try the grips from my SBH. I shot it today and it made all the difference in the world. It looks better and is much more comfortable to shoot now. I'd still like to see Ruger put out a 5-shot SA in .454 or .480 though!

That rig looks great. With the Ruger emblem in the grip panel it is very difficult for me to tell it is not a ruger.

Looks good, I like the standard Ruger wooden grip.

It sure tamed my BFR. I was thinking about ordering another set of grip panels, but the more I look at it the more I like it.

Make yourself a set pab, if I can do it anyone can. I absolutely suck with wood but I got mine done. I'm going to make some more and I'm going to get hold of some off the wall hardwoods my father in law has and see what I can do. I was also able to make these a little thicker so they fit my hand better so now instead of the trigger being at my second finger joint it' at the first like it should be.

You did a great job on yours! I do some leather work but I don't know about wood.

Am I correct in assuming that the BRF has the same Grip Frame (at least in regards to the grip panels) as a Ruger Super Blackhawk? In other words will any grips for the Super Blackhawk fit on a BFR?

Thanks

Larry

Hey those SBH grips fit pretty well, sure do make the BFR look alot nicer.

Larry, I also tried my Hogue wood and rubber SBH grips, but they did not quite fit the BFR. Both grips nearly fit though and would not require very much modification.

Thanks for the info. I am thinking I may like to try a BFR some day.
