.44Mag Super Black Hawk, 250gr Win Platinum Series HP, 25 yards broadside on the edge of a swamp, warm sunny day. 1:30pm on the opening day of the Georgia 2007 Centerfire Season. I had just sat down in my climber and was in the process of putting a powder charge into my Muzzle Loader when a truck on the other side of the swamp was moving through. He came running through the water and stopped nearly broadside to me and my only chance at taking him was with my pistol. I carry it in a cross draw rig that I made up for ease of draw while in the stand. I hit him just about an inch behind his heart. He didn't even twitch. He just dropped head first into about a foot of water. That round did the most damage of any round that I have ever shot. Not one organ was recognizable from his heart to his bladder.

my first with a pistol. that completed the "slam" of taking one with all legal weapons in the state of georgia. this coming friday a bunch of us are getting together to try and put a bunch of hogs down with our pistols.
