Where do you keep your extra shells for a fast follow-up shot? Thompson Center put out a nifty wrist band that held two shots. They work okay, but I lost 3 of them over the years and at $15 for about $3 worth of labor and material I'd like to come up with another alternative.
Don't confuse shooting with hunting. Shooting is a game, hunting is a sport.

I use a wrist band put out by uncle mikes that holds 5rds. When I used my Ruger #1 in 458 Lott I'd do like the old double rifle hunters in Africa and keep two shells between the fingers of my left hand (I'm right handed) and I could reload almost as fast as a bolt could rechamber.

I keep my extra rounds (2) shoved in each ear. Two fold purpose, they act as ear protection on the first shot, then lessen that effect as each round is reloaded and fired. Also hunters tend to shy away from me in the field, allowing me to hunt a greater area.

I currently use the TC wrist wrap and it works good for me. What I used to do ... I went to Wal-Mart and bought one of those elastic shell holders that you stretch over and around a rifle stock for about $3, cut the back off of it so you only had the part that holds the bullets, then had it sewn into my hunting jacket sleeve. I'm right handed, so I had it sewn onto the right forarm so I could grab a reload with my left hand.
Of course I NEVER need a follow up shot, but it is a nice peace of mind knowing you have a couple extra rounds close at hand! ;-)

here is a borrowed picture of what i do. i usually cut a rifle buttstock cartridge holder in half, and wear it on my wrist. 2 fer 1! i like about 4 rounds on my wrist. i've been known to miss a time er two.
i can reload really quick....n a deer can't run fast enough....lol.

When I had a single shot rifle I carried one or 2 rounds between my fingers on my left hand. I'm right handed. Now that I hunt with a handgun, I keep the extra rounds in the cylinder. LOL

I keep the extra rounds in the cylinder. LOL That's what I was thinking rupe. Right next to numbers 1,3,4,5, and 6 in the cylinder. Too many comedians!
I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a handgun today.

I keep mine on my wrist in a butt stock cartridge holder. I don't even cut it down. When the loops on one end get worn out I'll turn it around. I usually carry 3 or 4 cartridges as spares.

Before I take a shot a game animal, deer or pig, I have been known to put an extra round in my off hand or in my mouth. If I am wearing a glove, it is also easy to stick one up the elastic if it has it. Just do some fumbling at the range and see what works for your!

I bought some elastic at Wally world about 20 years ago. I made a wrist band of it with 3 loops for my 7-30 waters. Total cost was about 2 bucks. Believe it or not, i still have it. Along with my tree bark camo coveralls. The shells up an down instead of across my wrist. I wear it on the right and i eject the shell by slinging the gun to the side as i break it and grab one as it comes back. Pretty quik all together.

Thanks for all the input guys. I do like Hunlee's Pancho Via style of hauling back up shots.
