I think this load will work. I shot the target on the left from 50 yds with the 5.5 inch SBH with iron sights. It is MOD for me. I am ready for my 1st big game kill with the pistol.

I would practice with some deer archery targets, as this is the way I practice for hunting the game I'm after and I use a Ruger SBH 4 5/8ths 44 mag. Depending on your woods, I would practice a bit closer like 10 yards, then 15, 20, 25 and so on. In the woods I hunt in here in NW Montana, I will be lucky to get a shot beyond 25 to 35 yards.

50 yds is a streach for me under perfect conditions. The stand I am hunting from now has some 80 yd shots available but not for me with the SBH. All my shots will be offhand at 25 yds or less. The knee pod is not going to work for me out of this stand and it does not have a shooting rail. I hope I have time to get a good solid position but it is not likely. Patience is the order of the day. My next hunt will be next Wed. I should have some game cam pics and hopefully some trophy shots that evening.

I hunted Wed. with out a sighting. Things sure are happening in the deer woods right now. I will be rifle hunting this weekend. I may get in another pistol hunt or two before season ends. I hope so. This weekend is freezer meat time.
