Went to the range this morning with my recently purchased 7mm TCU and 375 JDJ. Fire formed 20 cases of the 7tcu using Hodgdon BL-C(2) powder and Sierra 130 grn spitzers and Hornady 120 grn V-max. Averaged about 1 1/2" at 50 yards. Not good but a start. I shot the 375 JDJ twice since that was all the ammo I had for it. I came within approx 2 inches of the bullseye which wasn't bad considering I had a death grip on the pistol, my elbows locked and quivering, teeth clinched and the muscles in my butt strained. The recoil really isn't all that bad. The barrel is ported however and if you want to clean off the bench of misc items, all you got to do is let fly with that baby!

Hey GMan...that's about all that ported guns are good for...clearing off all the empty .22LR's that the goof before you left laying on the bench! I had a complete .375JDJ Contender from SSK that I sold to Dr Dolittle...somewhat regret selling it but I really like the .338JDJ#2 for my type of hunting. Mine shot well with Varget and 270gr Hornady's...about 1.5" at 100 yards.

If you ever want to sell that barrel.......hehehe

Hey G-man, Look forward to hearing more about your new barrels, especially the 7TCU, as this is a caliber I've been considering. But the straining butt muscles is just a little too much information (lol). Just curious, what length is the 7TCU barrel. I read that this is a good caliber to use in a 10" barrel, and since I'd prefer to hunt with a 10" barrel this might be one worth considering.

GMan, glad you like the 375JDJ. I shoot the 220grn Hornady flat point w/49grn of IMR4895 and it's moving 1975fps avg from my 14" brl w/no break. I have some 260's in a couple of brands I'm going to try soon. That baby sure gets some attention at the range when the 22lr plinkers are not aware of the cannon on the line. I got one group this spring with mine at 100 yds that was 1.25" group for five shots. Heck, considering you shoot three bullets and they are nearly side by side, you have an inch group already. I was tickled. I'm going to try Varget cause my buddy that has a 12" .375JDJ is getting great groups with it and maybe a little more fps. We will see. Enjoy the barrel. By the way, do you need any .375JDJ brass. If so, shot me any e-mail. We can make a deal of some sort.

Mike

Mine is a 14" inch barrel. This is just the first time I have shot it. Got a lot of work to do.

I have some new 444 Marline brass on order. But I'll keep you in mind!

I'm getting arond 2200fps from a 12" 7T/CU with 120gr V-Max's and AA2200...a limited production powder they only sold in 8# jugs. It works perfect in the 7T/CU. I get around .75" to 1.25" groups on an average day at 100yds with a 4X scope. It handles very well with 2" less barrel...it was a 14" that I had cut.
