There is a forearm for the heavy barrel and they work just fine. The grip absorbs the recoil quite well!

270 W/ heavy tapper.

I have the Pach's on my Encore. I shoot 257 Roberts and 35 Remington. Neither are heavy recoilers but the grip is very comfortable. The forend is a little longer which is a plus also.

I have both the gripper and smooth styles. I do not care for the gripper style. They feel too "blocky" for me. This is related to the Contender grips only. I have the gripper style one of my wheel guns and I like them.
It is what ever works and fits you best.

They come with them. They also can come off. I don’t like the stud in the back.
