Bingo, your name says it all!! These guys were true Marines! Puller was from my neck of the woods. He is buried in Christchurch Cemetery not 15 minutes from my house. Could you imagine these 2 paired up?

I think Hathcock passed several years ago.

A great Marine. There was also a second book written about him, which I've also read. The title escapes me at the moment, but I'll research it.

Got a chance to meet Carlos in 1990,nice fellow, full of information, and extremely humble for his accomplishments. The author of the book to my knowledge never did give Carlos the money promised from that publication.

I met the gunny at Knob Creek years ago. He was down there signing his book. When I told him I had been a rifle team member at Camp Lejeune and a marksmanship instructor and knew Top Macabee he closed the stand down and we went for a walk. I got to talk with him for about a 1/2 hour. He was very soft spoken and a super nice guy. He took a look at my rifle and told me I should have gotten a .308, lol. He was a real Credit to the Marine Corps and our country.
