Got an original Armor Alloy (sp?) Super 14 in 35 REM.
It likes 200 gr Winchester Silvertip a lot.
Under 2" at 100 yds.
Don't have any bear here in Indiana but this load works great on Whitetail.
This load works so well I have never bothered reloading for this caliber.

H322 and 180gr hornady single shot spitzer bullet. i load 39.5gr for 2150+fps from the 14" barrel. mine is a rimmed version, but there is very little difference otherwise.

I run almost the same load as KYODE, 40gr of H322 and the Hornady 180gr SSP. I have an XP100 in 35 Rem, with a 14" barrle and velocity is just over 2,200 fps.

Geno. Where did you find those siver tips? My father uses a 35 Rem Marlin & swears by them but can't find them anywhere. He's down to his last 3 & will have to use them new fangled "Leverevolution" rounds I've been giving him.

I haven't bought an in years. After found my Contender liked them I bought 5 boxes and still have a box or two left. Seems other calibers have come between me and m "first love", like 44M SBH, 7mm-08 Encore, 309JDJ, and 375 WIN to name a few.
7mm-08 and 309JDJ are great for "edges" but more power than needed for "woods" distances.
Close in I prefer SBH (scoped for my old tired eyes) and a Contender in 375 WIN.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

TC offers the Encore with a 15" 308 Winchester barrel. I have one. I have not done any load work with it yet.

This load works so well I have never bothered reloading for this caliber.

Factory stuff is OK,but not if you shoot hundreds of rounds per year from each barrel/caliber.I found that the 35 offerred very little options in relation to bullets..maybe things have changed in the 5 years since I traded my 35 Rem.The 35 is a GREAT all around killer.

Barrels are not interchangeable, but any and all loading data for the Contender should be applicable for the Encore.

No they do not. A 30-30 AKL is as close as you are going to get. If you want to go custom a 309 JDJ will come even a little closer.

No they will not interchange, the Encore is the "big" brother to the Contender. Also the 308 Win has to much back pressure to be chambered in a contender. Bellm and JD Jones have cartridges that come close to the 308 Win for the Contender. Here is a link to an article on the 308 Bellm;

308Bellm

Here is the link to the Contender page ON JD's site with the 309 JDJ listed for the contender.

SSK Industries, Contender offerings

I hope this helps you out some.

They should be. The 30-30 AKL is just a 30-30 Win “improved.” The 309 JDJ is a 30 cal based of the 444 case. It is just about as big as you can get in the Contender frame in with a 30 cal.

Ps, Tig is right.

The new Hornady LeverEvolution ammo for the .35 Remington is outstandingly accurate in my XP-100. Should be great on game.

I don't know - the thought of using "rubber" bullets on game......

.

Based on total trigger pull weight, my trigger finger has lifted well over 200 tons....
