My brand new S&W Performance Center .357 mag revolver came in monday after a 3 week wait from the factory. Upon opening the box we found that the barrel shroud was loose. So now once my 10 day waiting period is over it has to go back to the factory for repairs. My new $1,000+ gun that I haven't even fired is broken

I'm concerned about the quality control from S&W over this, and today on the phone I got hung up on by their tech support. Has anyone else had problems with S&W over anything??? Are they even still worth buying? By the time I finally get my gun I will have waited almost 45 days. I feel like the poster child for the Obama gun era. Any one feel my pain?

Had a friend that had a performance center revolver .It had some rust and pitting on the top strap and barrel.Smith and wesson got it returned to them once.It came back and you could still see most of the pitting ,and could also see were they had tried to polish out the problem. He bad mouthed them extensively and still does, that gun now is painted black with a custom grip and a bunch of extra custom work.last I knew he was shooting in some type of competitive pistol matches and doing well. But as far as he is concerned they have no customer service at smith wesson.I have one smith auto and love it.Hope I never need to send it in.

Man I hate to hear about new guns coming in messed up. I had a Kimber that I didnt get to shoot until 2 months after paying for it, drove me nuts. I have had 2 guns back to Smith and Wesson for repair. I have never had a problem with their customer service, infact I have found it excellent with very fast turn around time. I wish you good luck on getting it fixed properly and returned quick.

I didn't know any state still had a waiting period. We need to have members post the dumbest firearms laws in effect for their state.

By the time I finally get my gun it will be around 45 days. The current waiting period here in the communist state of California is 10 days. Im sure that now that hes prez, Obama would like to extend this to about 45 or so. So I might have to get used to this long of a wait. Just my attempt at some sarcasm.

Gottcha, makes sense now. Good luck with the Smith, it will be an awesome pistol when it is right. I hate waiting, but I can not tolerate waiting then getting an unusable item after the wait. I am going thru this right now also, not a Smith BTW.

Man I hate to hear anything bad about any gun troubles! I have a Smith PC 629 and I have had no problems with it at all! Even with some heavy loads. Hope you get things straight. It may be some trouble now but you will have a good gun when its done.
