now that i know witch grip frame(thanks!) im leaning to checkered stocks but hear that i should stay with smooth grips for a 44 mag sbh whats eveyone think

All of my Ruger SA revolvers are Bisley gripped and checkering would offer a better hold, but I have smoothies on mine nonetheless. The traditional grip needs to roll in the hand to shoot comfortably so certainly a smooth grip would do better there. I've tried the traditional style but didn't care for that form, YMMV.

Personally, I don't like checkering on any handgun grip/stock. But to each, their own.


I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a handgun today.
