on Sunday. S&W .460 PC put a 305 lb. Illinois 8 pointer down at 175 yards. Deer was actually a cull, but I am still ecstatic! Round hay bales make such a great shooting rest and blind, but I almost set it on fire with the gun blast. Just a great week of hunting.

PICTURES!!!! Hope you didn't have to drag him anywhere. Any deer with a pistol is a trophy.

Graet shooting with the 460!!!!

I know what you mean about the round bales. They are really great for charlie hunting also. I almost set one afire with an XP in 221 Fire Ball. I need to keep the end of the barrel up away from the bale. LOL<LOL

305 lbs is one heckuva nice big bodied deer.I can barely imagine the keepers if you shot this as a cull.Great job.

Thanks for the congrats, guys. Alot of time, $$$ and aching wrists came to fruition on Sunday.

JAMES, I was shooting the usual--The Hornady 200 gr. SSTs. Great ammo, though I had an ordeal with one bad box this summer (primers). Not this time, though!

Total pass thru on both shots. Deer ran 20 yds. from 1st point of impact, stopped and he appeared to be hit good but I fed him another for good measure. He ran another 10 yds. and then signed the papers on the farm.

No, I was hunting a private farm near Kinderhook in northern Pike Co.
