this is kind of playing off Gary's post but what was your first handgun and what was the first animal you took with a handgun and what gun if it wasn't the one already listed.
S&W Model 57 41 Mag with a 4" barrel and ground squirrels.

Dan Wesson in 357 Maximum. The first handgun kill was a big doe at 65 yards with the Max. I took her with open sights, and Remington factory 158gr SJHP ammo. The scope was a recent addition.

First handgun...was actualy handgun"s". I bought an entire collection of Contenders from my dad's friend that needed cash...two frame, sixteen barrels, and two Loopy scopes...for...wait for it...wait for it.....$600!!!
That was close to 20yrs ago....yes I was not a whole lot more than 12yrs old but had worked a lot cutting grass and trimming hedges. They all went in dad's name at the time and I was not legal to hunt with for a long time...but that's not to say that the local chippy population did not feel the wrath of the 10" octagon .22LR barrel.

My first handgun was a S&W 686 with a 6” barrel. My first game animal was a white-tailed doe with a Lone Eagle in 7mm-08 mounted with a Leupold 2.5-8 scope.

This is my first dedicated hunting handgun. Still no game with this one but I don't carry it as much as I should. I had a miss on a coyote and a fox with it. Both misses were all my fault due to rushing the shot. My first game with handguns were squirrels and bunnies. My first big game with a handgun was an antelope.
My son is wanting Santa to bring him a Crosman 1377 air pistol for squirrel hunting so I guess he's catching the handgun hunting bug too.

My first "handgun" was a 1911 copy BB gun from Crosman when I was about 11. Then a Ruger 22 many years later.
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

My first hand gun is my Ruger RH .44 , and my first kill was a manged cat . I actually missed the cat with my first shot but got really lucky rocks from the missed shot got him . I was walking on a old trolley bed that runs behind my house with my dog and the cat came right at us ! could have been a real mess if my dog had gotten there first .

I mowed lawns all weekend every weekend when I was 10 and bought a Browning buck mark (in my dads name). It was also the first gun I bought with money I earned. Killed countless ground squirrels with it. Still have it, very accurate.

My very first ever Handgun was an old Liberty Mustang Single Action .22 LR Revolver. I killed lots and lots of gophers with that old Liberty.
My first centerfire Handgun was a Ruger Blackhawk Convertable .357 Magnum / 9mm. Don't recall that I ever shot much game with that Ruger.
The first Handgun I ever shot a Deer with was a Remington XP-100 that I had rechambered to 7mm I.H.M.S.A. with a 4x Redfield Handgun Scope on it. The very first year I hunted with that XP it accounted for 4 or 5 Whitetails.

Ruger SBH Hunter model used at a gun show. The original issue series that was later discontinued. Mounted a matte Leupold 2X on & started experimenting w/factory ammo from there. All white tails w/that one.

My first was a H&R 999, .22 and I killed 3 squirrels with it 40+ years ago and I've been 'hooked' ever since.

My Dad gave me a blued Ruger 5 1/2 single six convertable 22-22mag for my 18th birthday. It sure has digested a lot of lead in the last 35 years since then. Starlings and chippies were my first "trophies" but its conquests have grown legion since then. A few years back a local smith who likes working on rugers spruced it up by changing out the battle worn alumimum grip and ejector rod for polished stainless, deep custom blue on cylinders, fram and barrel give it a unique two tone finish. A few other tricked out mods rounded out the project. It's sort of went into semi retirement after the passing of my dad but it still gets taken on an occasional safari in the fall squirrel woods.

My first handgun was a S&W 22 Jet, I wasn't old enough to buy it(16) so my Grandma bought it for me. Traded it a few years later for a S&W 38/44 Outdoorsman and still have that gun 45 years later.

First handgun was my 30/06 Encore that I bought almost 11 years ago, but it didn't harvest anything until last year! First animal with a handgun was the biggest doe I've ever seen-took her on the run with my .50AE Desert Eagle/2x Leupold (this also happens to be the handgun I've taken the most animals with strange as it may be.) I wouldn't trade either gun for anything though as both do their part when I do mine!

You know someone mentioned a 1911 styled bb gun. I forgot I had one of those; I think Crossman made it. My dad bought it for me in about 1969 or 70. I guess handguns were in my blood at a very early age; I was only 8 or 9.
