I have a Old Vaquero in .44 Mag, 4 5/8 barrel, wondering if anyone knew of any barreles I could get and what length I should get for hunting?

A barrel swap on a gun like that requires a gunsmith...not just a simple screw on/off deal like a Dan Wesson. With adequate practice, what you currently have will do the job on deer.

If you want to go through the expense, you can have new barrel made to what ever length you want. Contact a local gunsmith and probably for the almost cost of a Super Blackhawk of a 5.5-10.5" he can make one. I am not familiar with the sight capability on you gun but the might be mounts and rings for the Vaquero.
Remember it's bullet placement that does the best job for hunting and stated by the BIRTHDAY BOY pratice.

For the cost of the new barrel and gunsmith work, you could purchase a good used Ruger SBH with a 7.5" barrel in the same caliber.

Just practice and hunt.If 4 5/8 were legal here that's what I'd have but 5 1/2 is minimum.

Buy a TC encore/G2/Contender same caliber for primary and the Vaquero for the secondary sidearm?
