Just got in. Crazy, busy day. Off of work....rush, rush, rush. Made it out to the stand around 6:15...hunting hours until 7:46. Dropped my bait and up into the tree.....still breathing fast and heart beating like a SOB. Couldn't wait to kill something(been working with the public too long!) And you know....10 min after sitting in the stand...all is well again. Forgot all my problems, heart rate slowed to near coma, no phone ringing......life is good. Thank God for our hunting rights. Approximately 20 min into hunt, a smaller bear came in for supper. I eyed him up, probably around 120 lbs only. In this neck of the woods a 160+ bear is a shooter, over 200 is a very good bear, and 280 + is a definite TROPHY. Yes, they've taken 600 lb bears in the past around here......to many young ones now. I will be happy with a 180+ bear. Sooooooo, I watched this youngin' for the 10 min he was sitting down for supper and watched him walk away.
.......Life is good.......
Cheers,
Dave
