Do any of you have a good accurate 45LC load using 2400 powder? I have plenty on hand and would like to give it a try.

I use a 250 XTP with 20.5 Grs of 2400 LPM Primer (NOTE: This is for Ruger or T/C only)---> This is the best load I have ever used for the RBH and T/C 1.25" @ 50 and 2" @ 100
I also use a Sierra 300gr JSP with 20.0gr of 2400 and LPM primer(NOTE: This is for Ruger or T/C only)1.5" @ 50 and 3" @ 100
I also load a 250 Gr Hard cast lead Berry bullet with 16.0 of 2400 this load will be OK in any Modern revolver. (This is the load I use in my 625 S&W)

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

My single best load, used in my 3 Rugers, and 1 FA .45 Colt, is 19.5 gr. 2400, CCI 350's and a 250 gr. Hornady XTP.

17.0grs and a 255gr hard cast swc, in my Ruger 5 1/2" Bisley.

I noticed others replying to this post are using magnum versus standard primers. Modern 2400 data for 45 Colt calls for standard primers.
I am wondering, have those on this post tried both standard and magnum primers, and determined magnum works best with top-end 2400 loads? I currently use 20.3 grains of 2400, WLP and a 250 XTP in a custom Bisley Hunter.

I use the mag primers and back the powder charge down .5 gr's to assure good ignition with the slow burning powders.
I have seen some books call for the mag primers and others not. I lean on to the mag side.

I've tested regular and magnum primers with 2400 and saw as much as 125 fps difference with the same powder weight, and generally improved accuracy with the magnum primers as well. I first noticed it when developing slightly reduced loads for a FA .50 AE revolver, and subsequent tests with several other calibers have held true. The magnum primers are an enhancement. It surpised me, as I had used regular primers with many 2400 loads for years. No more.
