The fall postal match will be a rather informal shoot...but do we really ever do anything seriously here! The link below is to the target we will use.

http://is-lan.com/challenge/images/shooting_gallery.pdf

Shoot 2 shots per animal for a total of 18 rounds. I'm not sure that the scoring will be yet but lets get shooting and I'll figure it out later. I was going to do a "field rest" style match but since these are small and we do not what KYODE to get discouraged we will stay with a bench match with what ever style rest you want to use.

Classes...since the targets are rather small...we will break this down by scope magnification then when you guys send them to me I'll break things down by revolver and specialty handgun.

All iron sighted guns will shoot 25 yards...rimfires and centerfires...both revolver and specialty.

All scoped guns with magnification 4X and under will shoot 50 yards...rimfires and centerfires...both revolver and specialty. If you shoot a revolver or specialty with magnification over 4X that is a variable then set the magnification to 4X and shoot.

All scoped specialty centerfires over 4X will shoot 100 yards.

If you think you fall into an area not covered here then post a note here and I'll let you know what we'll do. Posting here versus sending me an e-mail might answer another shooters question also.

Deadline will be September 30...that will give us a month to shoot...and since hunting seasons are getting close we should all be getting to the range for some practice! When you complete shooting, mail your targets to:

Dan Bowers
PO Box 156
Armagh, PA 15920

Good shooting!!

sounds good to me!
my printer is kinnda acting funky, and they look pinkish but i think they are shootable. might be nearly out of color ink cartridge

"dreams"........i always have "dreams" of winning one of these postal matches. i thought i could hold my own in the field positon match. now.... i'm thrown a curve gotta shoot from the bench! you suckers just knew i didn't have everything plum ready for the bench shoot. didn't ya?....fess up now!

how am i supposed to beat anybody .....if'n ya keep throwin these curve balls hehehe

hey....if i was to happen ta get my 6br going....later in the month .....youins'd be in big trouble....yep, big trouble. "dreams"....always gotta have "dreams"

simple enuff, i think. all iron sights at 25 yards.......4x max power scope at 50 yards........and anything over 4x at 100 yards.
ya done good dan....ya done good

I don't know if Dan needs the extra work from a scoring aspect, but maybe we could also include a field rest catagory(just write it on the target) for Kyode . I sure hate to see him all dissapointed like this. Just breaks my heart.

Dan go take a look at those targets at 100 yds. I sent the targets to you originally but hadn't looked at them at 100 yds. WOW. The colors are hard to see and I'm using a 3x12 Burris. Should be interesting.

i shot 1 match target at 100 today with my 30-30AI. i was honestly thinking about not turning it in. it's terrible!....even for me!
i couldn't see the target at all with my 2x7 burris. just did my best.....and it still turned out my worse.
honestly, that target sucks out loud at 100 yards. it doesn't work well at all.

i'll post my other fun shootin later tonight. i shot many, many rounds today!

It is awfully small. It could be printed on bigger paper, like say ANSI C size (17"x22") or even ANSI E (34"x44"). I'd be willing to print it out for others, or you could go to somewhere like Kinko's. However, i still think it will be fun, but i'm going to be shooting at 50yds and i've still got young eyes. Just thought i'd put my $.02 in...oh, and wheres my change????

yes you can play!....and please do!
print out your targets from the link in the original post. shoot following the rules in the same post. mail your targets to "danb" by the end of september. he will score, and post results after the deadline.

Since this is an fun shoot, those of you having problems seeing the target at 100yds can shoot them at 50yds...and yes...if some would like to shoot field position that can also be done at...let's say 50 yards since the targets are small.

OK, just so KYODE don't WHINE I too printed off some targets. Now to find the RIGHT day to shoot when I have TIME to shoot, and I'll see about knocking KYODE out of last place.

Well I shot 3 targets at 25 yards open sights. One is not bad, the other two will make KYODE'S dreams come true. So Kyle just shoot something, anything, maybe even throw darts at 25 yards, send it in and you will beat me.

If I get time I'll try and shoot the 100 yard class.

KYODE, just shoot me a PM with your address and I'll print off some targets and mail them to ya. I think I even have some card stock lying around. It shows the holes better than regular paper.

Dan B, I'd print off some targets and send them to ya, but by the time I get them mailed and you receive them the match would be over. Better luck next time.

I shot 3 at 25 yards, will have them in the mail by Monday morning.
