My son caught the handgun bug and asked Santa for a Crosman 1377 pellet gun for Christmas. When he is not shooting it, I've been having fun shooting a few rounds. This is a great tool for getting some practice in whenever you want. With a pellet trap you can shoot indoors day or night. This Beeman trap even includes silhouette targets. This is a 6 shot group fired from 10 yards. I have been very impressed with how accurate this gun is. My son is looking forward to chasing squirrels with it as soon as the weather cooperates. Anybody else practice with pellet guns at home?

How about a pellet pistol postal match ;-)

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

pab...I have the same gun. Parents got it for me when I was 12yrs old. Mom had to buy a box of pellets just about everyday on the way home from work...can't even imagine how many thousands of pellets have been fired from that gun. Got good enough to knock over 12ga hulls at 20yds off hand...not every shot, but pretty consistent.

Still get it out every once in a while.

I just bought myself the identical model as my Christmas present to myself! I couldn't believe how accurate it was even with the crappy plastic sights!

I think my sheridan scope mount will fit the one my "son" got for christmas. I may have to put a 2X scope on it

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

I had an early model of this gun when I was about 14 years old. It had a magnet on the bolt face for shooting BBs also. This model only shoots pellets. Here is a link for a guy who makes wood hardware for 1377s. It would double the price of the gun, but may improve the feel.

It's good too see I'm not the only one on here living their 2nd child hood.LOL My daughter seen mine a few weeks ago and asked what are you doing with that toy, nothing like your others. I told her I would make a target and let her get started with it first and then move her up too the 500 mag. Big differance. Just kidding.

It sounds like she is started down the handgun road too Dave. My son used to be happy just shooting his .22 Henry rifle. He was along with me last year when I shot an antelope with a handgun and he became more interested in them. He started shooting my Single-Six and Contenders in .22lr and did very well with both. He will be out-shooting me soon with the practice he is getting with his airgun.

Ya Pad1 she's only 12 and she wants all my hunting toys. I told her too start with the pellet gun then work up and she said she want the big boy first that I could help her hold it. DON'T THINK SO.

Mine also has the magnet.

Now if Ernie were in on this thread...he'd be wondering which pellets have the highest BC, then would scope it w/ a Loopy LRT and would be wanting to kill PD's at 80yds!!

I love airguns!....I also hunt with them....Those of you that like handgun hunting for the "challenge"...need to try airgun hunting.....its a blast........My kids are now starting with pellet pistol and rifle....new Crosman 2240 .22 CO2 pistol...and a new .22 rifle (Benj./Sher./Crosman model 392).....I also have that pistol you've got there......I made an aluminum breech for it and a brass probe.....

Best of luck with the children (old and young alike!)

That looks like the cure for cabin fever this winter. Does that trap work for co2 guns as well?

I had to go to clinic in Buffalo today. After that we made a trip to Dick's sporting Goods. They had 3 of the 1377's on the shelf, $65.00 each. I think I could find one a little cheaper.

The gun was heavier than I thought and looked like it was made sturdy. I may have to look around for a better price and try one.

Tig, this one was on sale at Amazon for $50 with free shipping. Midway sells them for about the same price.

Dahltails, this trap handles .177-.22 cal airguns with maximum velocities between 800-1000 fps depending on the distance.
