Bad news, just found a hairline crack on the trigger of my Taurus 425 (.41 mag). I sent it in, via my local shop, and they told me, Taurus was notorious for taking a long while to do warranty repairs. According to the Taurus website, they will contact me within 4 business days, as to when I should expect the gun back. Does anyone have any experiences to share with the customer service folks at Taurus Firearms?

From what others on this site have gone through with Taurus' customer service, I would not expect much help from them. Do a search for "Taurus" on this site and you should see a few of their experiences. I hope they step up to the plate and take care of the problem.

I will be very interested to see what they will do about this.
I will refrain from comment right now, but I can say my experience was less than satisfactory and never resolved.

Well pab1, I just did the search you recommended. I wish I hadn't though. I'll keep a positive attitude and hope they take care of it. I'll keep you posted as to my experience with Taurus Customer Service. In the meantime, maybe i'll check out some S&W's or Rugers...

Best wishes, but..... 3 tries with a .44 and it's still not 'fixed' and they won't send me the part so I can fix it.

We've sent in numerous Taurus firearms from the shop and the only problems are they charge for shipping, and take more time than other companies..One thing I do know is the more you "bug" them the more resistant they become...ElDee

You are lucky you caught the crack in your frame. A buddy of mine using Winchester Ammo was not so lucky. There have been several makes and models having blow up issues with Winchester ammo. Anyway here is a Taurus .41 Magnum and no Taurus has not replaced it.

Hope this works out for you! I happen to like the some of the Taurus revolvers but I ended up staying away from them after hearing about the problems that came with them.

I think I'll stick with Ruger and Smith, a few extra bucks up front is worth it to avoid a hassle later on.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

thats incredible, whats with the WINCHESTER ammo? Is it really that much more powerful? You are lucky you caught the crack in your frame. A buddy of mine using Winchester Ammo was not so lucky. I'll say thirds to Wapitirod's statement. Once S&W got my gun it was back in my hands in 8 days total. Fast turn around and nice to deal with.

Many reports are coming in from other forum boards, a Glock 21 with Winchester Ammo as well as several other revolvers. These are not what you would call KB's but ammo issues with Winchesters QC.

its been 4 weeks, still waiting. I decided to give them 6 weeks before I started nagging. Acording to my local shop, the taurus people have done a good job on making good with the warranty, it just takes a long time. They advised that i wait 6 weeks, then get in touch. I've got my fingers crossed.

I've never waited that long, I've only had to deal with Ruger, Smith and Heritage and two weeks was max with any of them. The heritage is a piece of crap although mine is extremely accurate and I had it back in a week.

Got my .41 mag back today! The cracked trigger was replaced with a shiny new one, as per the lifetime warranty. It took exactly 4 weeks for the repair. The gun may have been sent to brazil, not sure. There were stickers indicating brazil, but who knows.Overall, I'm pretty satisfied. The customer service was good aside from the long wait. I believe they held up there end. I'm glad it wasn't an ordeal like some folks have had. Still a fan of Taurus.

Good to hear! Sounds like they stuck to their end of the deal. I happen to know a few people with a Taurus. They haven't had any problems with them. IMO I have nothing against Taurus. Maybe if I had bought one and had something wrong with it, I would think differently. Good luck with it!
