This was in my local news paper, keep in mind I live in a logging town of 4000 people in rural oregon. If these liberal freaks are turning up here you can imagine what kind of shape the rest of the country is in.

Thank you for not having any more pictures in the paper of someone holding up an animal they just killed, celebrating it. It was awful to see the one of nine-year old Ryan Symonds holding up the poor fish he killed.

It's terrible to teach that it's okay to enjoy killing someone like he's being taught. There's a big difference between hunting and killing for sport and entertainment than for hunting and killing like lions in Africa do, or being in a Donner Party situation, stuck in a snowstorm and having to resort to cannibalism like they did. It's out of necessity they did and do that, not to brag and celebrate, holding up someone's dead body or keeping their body parts after killing them. It's terrible that human beings are the only species who enjoy killing someone else.

I've watched cats roll mice and they're very good at it, but they don't go out of their way to do it and would much rather do other things and avoid hunting all together. If they could, people would do well to copy that and be less dependent upon someone else's death to sustain them.

We can do much better than decorating ourselves and others with someone else's death. When we decorate with someone else's death, one day someone will decorate themselves with our deaths too and help attract negative energy that's destructive.

I hope you continue not to print pictures that celebrate killing another for sport and entertainment and don't help contribute to the negativity that comes with sports and entertainment death.

I did not read the article but know the types,I always want to ask if they eat meat or poultry and if not are they aware that vegetables are alive also?I then wonder if they carry a leather purse or have any thing made with animal products.Most of them are complete hypocrites and if not a hypocrite then just a complete nutcase that is waaaaay out of touch with any semblance of reality.

A secretary at work is a vegan. This broad is crazier than a sh!t house rat. She is so pushy about the plight of the animals it makes me sick. Whenever I see her grazing I always make sure to ask her if she is 100% positive that the truck delivering the produce did not hit any poor defensless animals on the way to the market. And how could she eat food obtained so cruely. Man that b!tch really hates me, and that makes me happy.

As idiotic as people with this mentality are to those of us who know better, they are better at playing the media and the public than we are. These are the people who are successful at getting spring bear and lion hunts banned in some areas. Its the same people using the b.s. logic behind lead bans to protect condors in California and now other states (with no condors) that are jumping on the band-wagon. They will do and say anything to advance their agenda. Rod, I would encourage everyone you know to write that paper and ask for them to bring back the hunting and fishing success photos. We need to make our voice heard rather than allowing the minority to control us. I respect her right to voice her opinion, but she is not being forced purchase that paper. If I don't like the contents of a publication or it goes against my beliefs, I don't buy it.

I expect the paper will continue to post pictures, the major money makers in this area are the loggers, farmers and income from sportsman. We have a major salmon, steelhead, sturgeon and tuna fishery here with lots of guides and outfitters and hunting is almost a religion here but unfortunately even alot of them are not as informed as they should be but I normally lecture someone everytime I get a chance.

Years ago I was at a science conference and had the displeasure of sitting next to an old cow professor who was ranting about hunters being so cruel. I asked her about the poor insects that had been killed so her salad would be fresh and free of bug bites. Then told her until she became autotrophic to just shutup and quit being such a hypocrite. The subject was changed and we didn't sit next to each other for the remainder of the conference.

I belive he is refering to the Timothy Treadwell incident. He was a nut job that took real risks with the bears all under the idea that they need to be protected. He got a girlfriend into the act and after a while camping with the bears they ate him and her.

you left out the best part Tig, they were grizzly's in Alaska and he used to like hanging out next to the streams where they fed on salmon, nothing like staying close to a grizzly's food source, especially if you want to join the food chain

. That guy got what he deserved, and no one can say he didn't amount to sh*t because a grizz left a big steaming pile of tree hugger somewhere.

I saw the "tribute" to him. Was like an hour show on some channel. Most of it was just "OK" to watch, it did show his stupid videos of him getting way to close to the bears. You are right he got what was inevitable.

The best part of that Dumb Ass's video was when he's recording himself 20 feet from a big bear he named "Ollie". He says "Ollie the bear could eat me if he wanted, but I know how ollie thinks so I'm safe, and he's just so cute." SO.... guess who ate his ass? Ollie the bear, thats who!!! Believe it or not...my wife is a vegetarian and she even thinks think the vegans are nuts!! The switch-a-roo is that wifey has no issues w/ folks eating critters, she just does not care for the taste or texture. BTW...wifey makes steaks and BBQ to die for!!

Well I always tried to live and let live until 9/11.When on 9/13 PETA and other animal people were searching the reminents for animals and yet all the people had not been found.They put the life of an animal before the life of a human being,that just put "grit in my craw".This lady here should be committed.
