I have a few reloading manuals, one has separate loads for xtp bullets. I am wanting to reload the 200gr xtp bullets in a 44 Mag. The 200gr jacketed HP section has lots and lots of powders listed. The 200gr xtp section only has Vihtavuori powders listed. I have lots of h110 and was wanting to use that but it shows no xtp loads with that powder. Do xtp's create that much more pressure that I can't use them with standard load data? Anyone have any published data for 200gr xtp's other than Vihtavuori powder. Thanks,

I have the Hornady 7th edition manual and it lists 12 powders for use with the 200gr XTP. Do you have access to a Hornady manual?

Sounds like I need to order a new manual. Does it list loads for H4227 or H110? Just curious before I order.

Hogdon website has loads for Hogdon, winchester, and IMR powders.I use 200XTP over 28.5gr of H110 but it is a MAX load but accurate.

Thanks for taking the time Tigger. I appreciate it. Your welcome. The two manuals I update each time they come out are the Hornady and the Sierra. They are the most complete in my opinion and I shoot those two brands of bullets the most. The Sierra has a good amount of powders covered and it even has a single shot pistol section. Hodgdon puts out an annual manual that has loads for thier powder line plus the IMR and Winchester powders. A good deal for the $6-8.00 that they charge. It also has a an article section that's a good read with good info on some of the new stuff.

Hodgdon's site has lot's of good info, but no data for the 200gr 44 mag XTP's. I've been told not to use other jacketed bullet data with the XTP's

i cross reference most any like weight bullet data. i don't expect exact brand bullet weight data before workin up a load. drop down some from max and work up in powder charge with a new load. the xtp isn't a radically different design, such as a solid copper etc.

Riggeruwz,
Can't remember where I found it, but worked up a load with W296 (H110) many years ago for the 200 gr XTP after reading about terminal ballistics of the bullet when Hornady launched the bullet.
Currently using 28.0 gr of W296 - performs really well in my Redhawk, on paper and in the field.
