Okay after drooling over JFJ's photos I got to thinking,If money wasn't an issue/travel/time/etc what would be your dream hunt?I have a two way tie.I have ALWAYS wanted a stone or desert sheep.I think they are gorgeous and they pull at something way down inside me.Maybe, just maybe one day.And if push came to shove a stone would get the nod.

I'm tied between Cape buffalo and Grizzly with a 6" single action revolver in a standard big bore like the 475 or 500 Linebaughs and iron sights.
I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them. John Wayne-The Shootist

Never been on a speed goat / dogtown hunt.
Swap you one for a LA pig hunt.
Even throw in a fishing trip
If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

Gary, just curious, with all the handgun pics you posted on the bragging board, which gun would you pick for this hunt?

Some sort of Alaskan Brown bear combo hunt w/my FA 454. Moose? maybe. Then if I was lucky enough to fill all the tags I could hunt ptarmigan or grouse w/my 16 (SXS shotgun you pervs!) til I was full of them.

I knew it before I ever opened the post but heck it's the only one left . They are absolutely gorgeous. Besides a Cape buffalo I'd really like to have a lion too but given the cost that'll not likely happen.

If it was legal I would give my right "you know what" to hunt either a Siberian tiger or a polar bear with a handgun.....

OH Man!! I'm going to have to give this some thought. So many choices........ No question for me… Grand Slam in North American Sheep! I know there are four of them, but the question was for a dream hunt. I would use take my 270 Win Encore as my primary handgun.

I'm going to have to go for African handgun safari - plains and dangerous...heck, we're dreaming aren't we? Old school, month plus in the bush, like the old time writers...

Well after much thought...... North America....Africa..... NA....Afri......
Off to Africa for some of the cool looking plains game. The variety and selection could make for a great number of elegant trophys. A kudu and gemsbuck rank right up there. I would take my time and really enjoy the trip.

SCHunter… I cherish my old cartridges! One of the reasons I got another 270 Win Encore pistol was because of the legendary Jack O’Connor! I can’t think of a better round to chase sheep with.
Your train of thought was the reason I created the “how old is your cartridge” post. I think there is a reason those nostalgic cartridges are still around!

Getting a super slam with a wheel gun would be awsome. If I had to pick one it would be grizzly/moose combo.

I vote for the 60" moose too. Preferably up in the north woods of Maine.
