After, getting my Taurus back from warranty work for a new trigger, I brought it into my local gunsmith to have a "Jack Weigand Scope mount" installed. The fit was perfect. The gunsmith decided to use 8-32 screws instead of the supplied 6-40 for extra strength. He drilled and tapped two holes for $45.00. Right now I have a Bushnell Sportman 1x32 red dot installed, but hope to upgrade to a smaller Burris reflex sight.

the gun shoots great with iron sights. the .41 is a great caliber. should be even better with the scope on.

Jeez, good work if you can get it. It takes me about 5 minutes total to do that Weigand job. It is a solid mount. I don't know if it will be a problem but you may want to cover the front of that dot with Scotch tape to make sure those ports don't mess up the lens. That looks like a nice compact piece, but you might wanna try one of these to make it moreso:

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

You'll like the gun even more now. The accuracy is much better with the scope. Looks good too!

I want to try a reflex style sight. Ive got a red dot on my 657-3 with Weigand mount. Any experience with the Burris sight? I'm curious how they hold up in the field?
