I'm not sure on the dies, I know my Hornady dies are marked 475/480. The only problem I would see would be in resizing but more than likely they will work, you'll just have to adjust the locking ring. Once you start shooting the 475 loads you probably won't mess with the 480's unless you are recoil shy, the difference in cost to reload is minimal and unless you bought the second cylinder the 475 loads will probably be more accurate and you won't have to worry about the carbon ring building up in the cylinder from the 480's. I've had excellent luck with the Hornady brass in the 475, I have alot of cases that have over a dozen firings on them and I've never had a case failure, the only problem I've had is the rims are too wide to fit in my shell holders because they have expanded from hitting the recoil plate so many times and I don't load down my 475's, everything is full house and heavy bullets.

I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them. John Wayne-The Shootist

You don't get a second cylinder with the BFR and there's really no need. I think the dies are okay. I have gotten many -- no, make that MANY reloadings on the same brass and my load goes 1,350 with a 420 grain bullet. You will love your BFR! It is the best bang or the buck out there, bar none and the .475 loaded properly is a killin' machine! I have yet to shoot one that wan't accurate.

As wapitirod said, once you start shooting the .475s you probably won't mess with the .480 loads any more -- unless you don't like the recoil, but you don't really need to push the .475 hard for it to work.

Congratulations!

congrats... You will love it. The first 4 shots out of my new BFR 500 were all bullseyes with iron sights. I never even had to fight it on. Very friggin accurate.

That's a good number. Is it the 6-1/2" or 7-1/2" barrel?

i havent got it yet it was shipped yesterday so i would think that by thurs it should be in my hands. IVe had several dealings on gunbroker so far only 1 i had trouble with. The deal was stopped before i sent any money by the ATF. Some one is flordia had been scaming people anyone that bid on the gun received emails and a phone call advising us not to send any money other than that no issues at all. I always look at the sellers feedback Ron
