Being fairly new to TC Contenders and owning a few barrels I was curious to what you guys would choose if limited to 3 barrels. I own a 14" 6.5jdj, a 10" 30-30, a 10" .410 and a 12" 7-30 Hunter barrel.Your answer`s will help me in making any future barrel puchases. Thanks, James

22lr match, 6x47, and 35remington
or....17mach2, 6x45, and 30-30AI
or....22lr match(again), 6tcu, and 358JDJ
3 sure would be hard to do "want" wise!

22 Match 7-30 Waters 375 Winchester or 45/70
Rod, too.

.223 Rem, 6.5 JDJ, .375 JDJ. That covers everything on earth except maybe blue whales. Oh and for the 4th if you can have 4, the .22 LR.

10" .22lr 10" .44 Mag 14" .45-70
My 14" 7-30 Waters would be a close 2nd to my 10" .44 mag barrel. I prefer shorter barrels though, so I'd pick the 10" if I had to choose one over the other.

10"22LR 14"30-30win 14"45/410 What I was thinking. Except 14" all the way.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

james the 22LR seems to be the barrel you don't have and the one most people vote for.hope that helps you decide.

Between target practice and small game hunting, they have made a big improvement in my accuracy with larger rounds.

Come to think of it, my .410 barrel might have to join the club. Yeah, I think we must ammend to allow 4 barrels ;-)
Rod, too.

Going with what I have, I would split them accordingly…
221 Rem Fireball 7mm TCU 30 GNR (30-30 AI)
6mm TCU 375 Win 257 GNR (25-06)

22lr, 7-30, and the 375JDJ I'm with Rod. But since you have the 6.5JDJ then it would cancel out the 7-30...they would work equally well. If factory ammo were a concern then exchange the 7-30 w/ a 30-30 and the 375JDJ with a 45-70.

I think these would cover all of my hunting needs.

Depends on the primary game being hunted and the range. Tough call for just three barrels. 14" 22lr without a doubt 12" 44 mag with red dot for close in work and stalking 375 JDJ for everything else
