Does MOA offer the barrel taped rather than the frame? I could see a barrel with a base on it rather than the frame. I know the barrel screws in and I would suspect it would repeat rather well but why not the scope on the barrel????

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

The MOA is made to be a switch barrel gun, so it must be easier to manufacture the mount on the frame. The barrels have to be fitted at the factory to the frame, then all you need is the spanner wrench to change out as many barrels as you have for the frame.

I will assume you could have the barrel D&T for a scope once it was fitted. Especially if you only have one barrel for it.

I know this is a silly question, BUT, if someone was interested in the MOA should they hold out a little longer for the FA single shot?

I would hurry up and get the MOA ordered and paid for. Then start saving for the FA when it becomes availbale.

I'm with tigger on this one,
I have an MOA Maximum and the barrel does come close to repeating. it is much easier to drill and tap the frame then the barrel on these. i would buy one forget changing barrels and just shoot it in what ever caliber you choose. my opinion would be to buy a contender if you want to switch barrels.

It looks as if there are only a few screws holding the base on. Is that the case or is it pretty solid?

Its very solid, i have mine set up with a 3-12x burris and a 14in barrel, in 284win. it has shot well over 2,000rds and the mount has never come loose.
