I ordered some of these since I can't find the bullet I normally shoot. Has anyone used these on game? How much penetration/expansion can be expected?

I loaded these over 24.8grs of 296 ,taken from a reload manual, and got 3" groups at 100yds from a 9" SRH. A friend of mine used this gun/load combination to make a broadside lung shot on a large feral goat at just under 50yds. Complete penetration with plenty of tissue damage. James

I began to use that bullet about 1980 as a handgun metallic silhouette bullet, because it was the most accurate in the SBH's I was using. Subsequently, it showed itself to be extremely accurate in every .44 I've tried it in (dozens). I've used it on dozens of head of big game weighing up to about 250 lbs. out of Rugers, Smiths, and FA's, to my complete satisfaction, driven by either 23 or 24 gr. of 296, depending upon the gun.
On buffalo, bison, large bears, elk etc., I use larger calibers than the .44 Mag., but for deer, hogs, mtn. lion and such, that 240 JHC is great.
