Can anybody point me to an Encore pistol forend that is a little longer than the standard pistol forend? I'd like to have a wood forend that is a little longer. I'd like to be able to put a Harris Bi-pod on it. Any thoughts or pictures of yours?

I have a couple forends that are rifle lenght. I use a Stratton hanger bar and the forends are made by GA Jim.

Tig, when I was reading this I was thinking Jim’s! His prices are very reasonable and he can do an assortment styles. I bet you he could even put a stud on one for a nominal fee.

What is really funny is I liked Tig’s “Bee” wood so much I ordered a set for myself!

TCMan, yes Jim will put the hole in for the sling stud. He has done a couple for me. I prefer to have it set up for the bolt style as opposed to the screw in type.

i like the one i got for my 7mm-08 very much. i don't use a bipod, but if i did it would be perfect imo. it is also has aluminum pillars already installed.
it comes from..... tonys forends and stocks...... http://www.tonysforendsandstocks.com/index.htm

i already had the grip from a set. the forend makes the gun imo.

oh yeah......more options...
stratton custom modifies factory composite rifle forends to work with a hanger bar.

i have a couple composite rifle forends that have had aluminum pillars installed by a friend. they work super. you can start from a factory rifle barrel cut to pistol length.....or use a custom barrel with rifle spacing. you can even add a 3rd hole to a barrel to accept a rifle forend.

several ways to skin this cat!

otter custom is superb.

"TCdave" also makes super nice grips n forends. he doesn't have a website, but can be easily found at the specialty pistols forums, as well as "otter".

Or you could try a Pachmayr. Not as beautiful as the wood though. But less likely to scratch.Maybe?
