I'm currently using an electronic projection type sight on my Taurus M44. I'm thinking of switching to a conventional scope. I don't want to spend several hundred, but may if I think I need to. I have been doing some research and the Weaver Classic handgun scopes get very high reviews, and are half as much as many mentioned tubes. I have had a Weaver Classic rifle scope and was very impressed. What says you guys?

I have a Weaver 2.5-8x on a Competitor in .308 Win and will be getting another, or few. Clear glass, nice x-hairs and forgiving eye relief, and compact. I have or have had just about every brand out there and the Weaver is the best value.
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Go for the Weaver. I have three of them. One silver on my 45LC Ruger Blackhawk Hunter, two black matte scopes on my 6.5JDJ and one on my 309JDJ. Both have seen some hard times and many rounds under them. Clear, good eye relief and the power rings are very easy to move even with gloves when it's cold. Very good product for the cost. Here is a Weaver on my 6.5JDJ Mike

I have a Weaver 2X on my T/C 22lr and love it. I'll probably be replacing it before next season with a 2.5x8 Weaver. Very good glass for the money.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

I have had good luck with the Weavers also, and although I'm primarily a Leupold guy I wouldn't hesitate on the Weaver.

I have recently got a 2.5-8x32 weaver scope. I am impressed with the glass quality. Do like I did save yourself some money, buy a weaver.

Weavers have always served me well.
I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a handgun today.

How do they handle recoil, if I may ask?

I'm a Burris guy, but do have a Weaver 4X that has served me well. Do not like Leupolds for handguns!
