I used the 300gr Cast Performance but I was getting better all around performance from the 260gr Partition with 1.5" groups consistently at 150yds

Thanks Wapitirod, What kind of groups was you getting from the casts? I am mainly looking at the casts due to cost difference, wow I never looked at the cost of the Partitions before, even though I've heard you guys talk about them. I will take your word that they shot very well, but doubt I will find out for awhile.lol.

as above the best I got with the cast was two to three inch groups. The Noslers are spendy but for some reason they really worked extra well with the gain twist rifling in my 460 and they are as tough a jacketed bullet as you'll find.

Thank you, I will make sure not to buy bulk until I play with some different weights and loads. Should be interesting.

I purchased 100 360gr Cast Performance bullets for a Ruger Alaskan in .454 Casull for use as grizzly deterrent. Loaded with 25gr of H110, penetration was outstanding, even at lower velocities (~1200fps) because of the short barrel. Just for #@$%s and giggles I loaded some of those same bullets for the .460 (~1900fps) and got reasonable accuracy (~1" @ 50yds). Now I may be wrong but I don't think that that bullet is designed to be run at higher velocities like that and still perform as intended. Out of MY .460 revolver, for MY hunting application (whitetails and black bear) there is no better bullet than the Barnes 200gr XPB. With the load I plan on hunting with this fall, I'm pushing the bullet at around/slightly over 2400 fps and can consistently put 3 rounds inside an inch at 100 yards. Even at that velocity, (10 yds from the muzzel) the bullet retains 100% of its weight and functions perfectly. If you can spend that kind of cash, (buck a bullet) I highly recommend them.

The groups you two are getting is what I would like to see, Something to look at for the performance.
