Mid-grip or rear grip? The eye relief on some LER scopes work better on one or the other, depending on your arm's length. Ever since I got a Weaver 2.5-8x I have a new favorite, and I've tried them all.
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

I'd also go with the 2.5-8 VXIII Leupold

i'd probably opt for the 2x7 burris for a $ savings over the leup + it's a scope i love. #2 in line would be the 2.5-8x leup if i could afford it at the time.
Kentucky….no place like home.
