I carry my Bull in a Mike's Bandolier. Very comfortable and I can move it up or down.

havn't packed mine into the woods deer hunting for a few years now. but, when i do, i use the nylon uncle mikes bandolier holster for scoped revolvers. i like it really well for the purpose of packin the 7 1/2" ss redhawk/2x burris.
they say the leather rigs are nice, but i think i'll stay with the ol nylon.
check the leather out though at pistolpackaging.com

For my 8&3/8 Mod. 29 I use a cheap bandolier style(about $30.00) I got from Cabela's. It's actually made by Michaels of Oregon called the Gun-Mate. It does a good job of protecting the gun, although it's not exactly a custom fit. But, it is snug & secure. As for comfort, it's OK, but I never really felt like I got it adjusted "right". For the price I think it's pobably a good holster.
I would like to try a sling for next year maybe.
For the most part, even while wearing the holster this year, I found myself carrying the gun in my hand, often by the scope

I guess I will use my Pistol Packaging Bandito holsters this year again. When you have the perfect holster why change. This holster fits great and because I'm left handed works for me.

I couldn't agree more. Pistol Packaging Inc. has the best system that I have found for hunting with handguns. Very tough to beat the quality that they offer for a very reasonable price. Works great for us right handed folks too.

Glad to hear you guys talk highly of the Bandito. I just got done hunting with my nylon Uncle Mikes and it made way too much noise for me while stalking. Guest I have another purchase to make. I going to blame it on you guys, my wife is going to be mad at you.

Tho I carry a scoped contender, the answer would be the same, I use uncle mike's shoulder holster, this differs slightly from the bandolier, I also wear a belt-mike's also- this rig balances the weight by transferring the weight to the off side, I wear my parka over the whole unit, the greastest part of this iis the fact that the gun is warm to the touch when it comes out of the holster, so I can shoot barehanded in all but the coldest weather

DanS, I look at it this way. You have at least 5-600 invested in your shooting iron, why not have the best that you can have to carry it. I think it's a small investment for the quality you are getting. Of course, you could go with something like a Desantis holster spend twice as much and only carry one gun. When I bought mine I got the belt, 2 holsters and the expenders for 160 not too bad. Since then I found one with two holsters on Ebay for 50. Not too bad I think.

I also use the uncle mikes shoulder rig for my sbh with 2.5-8x eer. I think its a little loud when drawing and also I have to take it off when sitting in a stand because it rubs the tree when you turn. I may try to wear it on my belt and see how it does.

I use the Uncle Mikes too. I also have cut the shoulder straps from one and rigged teh holster to a US Army Alice harness and webbed pistol belt. This allows me to carry my BIG scoped revolver or TC and a open-sight handgun on my right hip. It really distributes the weight and allows me to have a gun redily availabel; although when stalking and glassing, I usually carry one in my left hand and Binocs in the other. This with a canteen, dayapck with lunch, and a grunt call and doe bleat, I am loaded to the gills. I backpack year round, so the weight does no bother me. Even if I do not carry both, I use this harness set-up to bear teh weight.

Uncle Mikes Bandolier here, too. Works great for my Encore's and Taurus. Can't go wrong with em, but I'd like to try some of the others mentioned as well.

I'm with Magman and Stush, Pistol Packaging is the way to go for any scoped handgun. I use them for revolvers and T/C's their outstanding. I've had most of the other brands but none are in the same ballpark IMHO. I've used slings also but I like the "stay put" feeling of the PP holsters.

I'll play the devil's advocate here and say that I don't like scoped revolvers. To me a revolver is a quick, light, and compact firearm best reserved for defense or close range hunting.

I get so much more power out of an Encore handgun with equivalent recoil that I use a 308 Encore for most of my serious handgun hunting and a revolver for close in brushy work and hog hunting.

Open sights are good for about 50-75 yards for me and that's about it but I feel that's enough for a revolver.

Oh... I forgot to mention. When I DO carry a revolver for hunting I use a Bianchi leather shoulder holster and LOVE it.

I also like to carry my Glock 20 (10mm) in a Bianchi leather X-15 shoulder holster. It's so incredibly light for the firepower it delivers that I use it a lot as a hunting sidearm or alone.

Another option for me but I don't own one right now as I sold my Mark VII to get a Mark XIX is a Desert Eagle in 41mag or 50AE. These are excellent with and without a scope and can deliver better accuracy and power than most revolvers with way less recoil.
