I just received 100 .416 SPT Hawk Bullets w/ a jacket thickness of .035. I am going to load these to make rounds in my 416 Barnes Competitor Pistol. I am looking for any comments from anybody that has had experience with hawk bullets.

I think they are too soft at rifle velocities. At more subdued handgun speeds they may work well, and I don't know what you plan on shooting with them, but I have seen some spectacular failure with these bullets (complete core separation, etc.).

My Impression Is That Hawk Really Only Stands-Out When It Comes To Old Style Heavy Slow-Moving Big Bore Slugs For Cartridges Like The Antique Sharps 45s & 50s(For Instance). The Soft Pure Lead & Copper Consruction Appears To Assist In Ensuring An Even Consistent Expansion.
