The loading gate on my old model SBH is partially opening after recoil. It opens with less resistance than my newer SA revolvers. Is there any way to fix this?

pab1 im not a gunsmith, but when i got my .475 back from gary reeder about two weeks ago i went to the range with it and after the first two or three shot the loading gate was real loose and flopping around. i called mr.reeder to tell him what was going on and he told me that the gate spring needed to be replaced. i sent it back for a couple repairs one of which was to have the gate spring replaced and when i got it back it worked nice and smooth. like i said im not a gunsmith but replacing the spring seemed to fix mine.

the gate detent (spring)is the only thing that can cause it, to change it you need to remove the grip frame and push the trigger pin out or sometimes you can push it from the gate detent side toward the trigger and that way the the trigger and transfer bar stay in place.
