Wow! Deer season's getting close. It's decision time again. .308 Win Encore, Ruger SBH Hunter .44 Mag(scoped),or SBH .44 Mag (irons). Every year I go through the same turmoil. It's a problem I love to have. Sure seems like the season sneaks up on me every year. Think this year I'll attempt to blood the "Hunter".
Good luck Everyone!

Take both revolvers out. If its close enough go with the irons. If it's a little farther out reach for the scoped hunter.

Good luck and have fun!

I would go shoot all 3 and choose the one I shot best with that would be my go to hunting gun.

I do this almost every year and almost every year there is a different outcome.

I in most hunting cases I have a long range gun 125 yds + and a short range gun 125 yds or less.

I choose the best gun for the hunt and make shot decisions during the hunt if they are to far for the gun I don't take the shot.

This is the only way I have found to get better with the array of hunting combos I have to choose from.

It is a tough problem but it is a fun one.

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

There you have it....

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

Depends on where you are hunting. Deep woods or power line?

I have to agree with H2OBUG, one for close in and one for distance.

I think I'll go with Whitworth on this one. Sometimes the solution is so simple, you just overlook it.

I am taking the S&W460V for shots 50' and under. And the Encore for shots 50' - 100'. I have both pistols sighted in, I am going to call some coyotes this weekend and test them out.

Good luck on the 'yotes. What caliber is your Encore?

.223 for the Encore, it will be perfect for the 'yotes. But I have a 460S&W on order. Hope it gets here before Oct. I really like the groups I am getting with my revolver I cant wait to see what the 460 does out of a 15" barrel.
