I have seen an article posted here (I think) on a stolen FA 500 Wyoming. In the article the author (I can't remember who) discussed a conversation with J D Jones concerning this caliber. I would like to know what J D thought.

My friend from Ohio does not think much of it. I respect his opinion, but also respect J D's. I, too, am "kinda in heat" for one.

It's more important where you hit 'em, than what you hit 'em with.

Gregg has a couple of articles on the 500 here. It's certainly not for everyone because of the recoil.

wtroper,

In my article, "STOLEN FREEDOM ARMS MODEL 83"

http://www.handgunhunt.com/promo/members...MS%20MODEL%2083

I state:

"I had been lusting after a Freedom Arms Model 83 in .500 Wyoming Express ever since I talked to JD Jones about it on the 2006 HHI Antelope Hunt. It was merely conversation about that gun vs. the S&W 500, which I already owned."

And in my article:

".500 WYOMING EXPRESS: FUN GUN, STRICTLY BUSINESS,
OR KNUCKLE-BUSTING BULLY?"

http://www.handgunhunt.com/promo/members...OMING%20EXPRESS

I give my perspective on the gun and the cartridge. This article may help answer some of your unasked questions.

Take care.

Gregg

Then try a 15" 416 Rigby with wooded grips shooting a 350 TSX over 105 H4831sc. You'll get recoil, and thump enough to remember it.
