Does anyone else beside TC do easy open conversions on Contenders? Like SSK Ind. or someone? Or does it have to to go back to the factory?

I don't think I've ever seen that advertised by 3rd parties but why wouldn't you let T/C do it. I'm not so sure they wouldn't do it for free if you wrote a letter.

I was wondering this because I see that the factory removes any after market parts when they convert them to easy open.

SSK will not do it. I have asked and J D is emphatic about that.

Yes they would do that but after they replace the trigger guard and trigger assembly I can't imagine what else could be left that would be aftermarket parts.

They don’t replace the trigger guard, or at least they didn’t on mine. But they did reblue the entire piece so that it would match the new trigger and hammer. They basically gutted it and replaced all the innards.

Had my gun converted. Make sure you send all barrels. I had one lock up and would'nt open. Had to send back with all barrels. Just got it back and opens like a dream.

Thank you, but the Contender was sold before I could check on the trade. You all made good points, I did not think about.I will remember for future reference.
