Anyone own this stainless model? Its the one with the 45 acp cylider included.
How does it shoot?
Does the 2 inch barrel loss matter?
My local gunshop has a few on sale
Thanks

I had the Vaquero 5.5" in 45 before I converted it to 454 and it shot fine. I personally don't like the looks or feel of the factory bisley grip frame and prefer it worked over by thinning it out and rounding the corners. The difference between the 5.5 and 7.5 will be more in the sight radius than in actual performance, you may lose up to a 100fps but it's alot nicer carrying. With any of the Ruger single actions most will shoot fine out of the box but all could use a trigger job and like anything it is possible to get a lemon.

You do not mention if it is a standard Bisley with adjustable sights or the Vaquaro. I have the SS w/adj sights, I love it, shoots the 300 Grn XTP real nice. It is my whitetail gun and I hope to add a Bear next year. The Bisley grip from the factory fits me just fine but that is personnel, you can tell if you will like it when you hold it. I was lucky I got to compare mine to a 7 1/2 Blackhawk and the control of the Bisley grip is what sold me.

I've got the 5.5 ss Bisley, .45Colt/.45acp. It shoots great with the 255gr lswc and 10.5grs Unique (1050fps in my pistol). It also likes the 250gr XTP and 26grs H110. No problem on deer and hogs so far.

It's not the gun, but the man behind it.

I have the Accusport model of Bisley 45 Colt:

I use this beauty as a woods gun during hunting season. I had a chance to use it on a deer once, but the deer jumped out from in front of me and scared the $%^& out of me and I missed. It handles well and shoots great. It is not a convertible with two cylinders.

I do have a old model Vaquero that is a classic with two cylinders. I used them in Cowboy Action Shooting, but since have replace them with new model Vaqueros. I did keep one of the old model Vaq. It was a shooter and I had a soft spot for it.

I've got the one Raf has. It's a sweet heart! It's become my go to gun ever since. I don't pine so much for another FA 83 anymore. Plenty of load manuals give you velocity figures. Mine shoots great w/300's in the 1200 fps ball park. The deer haven't inquired about it's velocity or offered to buy me a Chrony. I did need a taller front site though.

.I had wes make me a holster for it with a ammo dump for pig hunting.the revolver is more accurate than I am.

Why not??? Mine isn't a convertible classic. But I have a Old model Vaquaro that was. Actually I had a pair that I used for CAS. I enjoyed shooting it (them), both ways!
