Look at this Moose!

Don't know if this is a internet/photoshop hoax. This was emailed to me.

By the length of his beard and the grey legs, I figure he must be over 10 years old.

He looks to be well over 8 feet at the top of the shoulder hump, and with his head

up the height to the
top of his antler must be about 12 feet. This guy is king of
the forest, no bear or
pack of wolves would dare come after him when he has this rack.

Considering that a
dirt road can fit 1 1/2 cars across . this fellow is HUGE!
The photo was taken in Eliot Lake,
near Sault St. Marie, MI.

Yes, it's a normal
size gravel road.

Wow this thing is huge. If this is not a hoax, anyone want to try and guess what thing would weigh?

well my horse is 17 hands and weighs 14-1600 so that guy would have to 2500 to 3000 if it's real. I would be convinced but I've seen so many doctored animal pictures lately and my wife said she saw this one a little while back.

I'm going to say it's real because you can see the sun reflecting off the antlers in the 2nd shot and not in the first, and the reflection looks correct in terms of the direction the sun is coming from. It's easy to cut and paste, but hard to duplicate shadows and reflections accurately.

Well that is a big animal. But not as big as they want you to belive.

There is no way that road is 1 1/2 cars wide. It looks like the tire tracks are right at the very edges. I'll bet a fullsized pickup would be scraping the mirrors on the cedar trees.

good observation tig, I didn't catch that the first time I looked at it but your right. I definitley would not complain about downing it then if it's real. I just hate that people keep faking stuff. I got fooled on the Australian special forces diver climbing the helo ladder with a great white under him and the so called tame moose with a harness on him. I was bummed when I realized I had forward both on to friends and then found they were both fakes.

Could it be a atv trail?

TRUE STORY AND MY ONLY MOOSE ENCOUNTER !

This photo reminds me of coming back one night at 10:30 pm from spring bear hunting roughly 150 miles north of Ottawa, Ontario.
We were trying to pass a moose at 30 MPH on a back woods road.
The moose use the roads up there because the bush is so thick. It was a small bull moose. I remember staring out the window and the moose's eye was level with my line of sight sitting Ford Explorer.

Nothing about these photos look suspect to me, but I only had one bull moose encounter at under 10 feet.

Being from Michigan I can tell you there are Moose in that area. The DNR released some many years ago but the population has not taken off as they hoped. Currently there is not a moose season in Michigan There are wolves in that area also. That is a one lane trail not a road.

Agreed. There's no doubt he looks huge but "huge" is a matter of perspective. The pic looks fake to me...the bull just looks "inserted" into the bottom picture.

The thing that caught my eye was the out of place size of the rack. The picture was apparently taken in the upper part of Michigan. That would make this a Shiras moose. I am not a moose expert but the rack size looks more like something from out of northern Canada or Alaska. Not saying Shiras can't get that big, just I have not seen any actual photos of one.

The photo looks 'doctored' to me and that 'road' appears to be a single lane, not 1 1/2.

It's not the gun, but the man behind it.

The moose in Michigan were brought in from Ontario Canada and are not Shiras moose. Here is a little Michigan moose history if your interested.
