My brother is interested in one of the Performance Center model 629s in either the Stealth Hunter or Hunter Plus variations. Just curious if anyone had any experience with or owned either handgun and if you did, any input would be greatly appreciated.

It is the finest S&W 44 I have ever owned or shot. The trigger is a phenom and it looks cool to boot.

They're nice guns but heavy. Personally, I would prefer the light hunter. You don't need all that weight to tame a 44.

I just picked up a 6" 629 last week I have yet to shoot it but I will this weekend
If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

I don't own either gun you ask about but, do own two 629s. One is the Mountain Gun and the other is a 6 & 1/2" Classic, both are definately shooters! I prefer the Mountain Gun for day in and day out carrying. Recoil with it's 4" barrel and factory loads isn't all that some would have you believe. I have to agree with others opinion, S&W triggers are the best of any revolvers in the industry. My whitetail gun: My woods bumming gun: Steve

I owned a S&W 629 PC gun. It was nice, but I've been bitten by the Single Action bug and it went down the road. Sometimes, I should've kept it.
