I've been shootinh my 14" SSK contender in .375jdj for almost 20 years. Always have had great success with the 270 Hor. spire point (52 gr. AA2520).
Maybe I'm just bored, but I'd like to try the 260gr Accubond...
Anyone have info on this? Is it an accurate (expanding at +150) and consistent bullet?
How deep should one seat it? I've been seating the 270 Spire point with the bottom of the bullet at the bottom of the case neck.. Same-same with the Accubond?

Any advice and guidance are welcome & would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I've had two T/C factory barrels and both would go sub moa with 48gr of H4895 behind the Accubond. When loading the Accubond I used the same oal lengths that I had with the 270 Hornady and it worked great so I never looked back.

Thanks Bud...
What kind of balistics did you get out of that? What was the Muz Vel with the 4895?
Did the bullet actually open up at moderate to extended distances? Some say it's too stout for the speeds the .375 generate. What are your thoughts?

I honestly never got a chance to use it on game but I've heard good feed back especially on ones used on elk. The only actual kill experience I've had is in rifle calibers and they are impressive and tough. They expand fairly quickly but retain most of their weight. I was getting 2100fps out of both barrels with actuall velocities ranging from around 2060 to 2120fps and talking with the guys I knew at Nosler we figured I was good for 300yds before expansion on deer sized animals started to become a concern. I'm trying to remember and I'm sure Nosler has it on their site but I think min impact velocity for the Accubond is 1600fps and according to my Lee ballistic program if you start with a muzzle velocity of 2050 you'll be at 1599 at 300yds.

hope that helps.

Hi Im new to this but I am wondering if anyone has used the 375 jdj with speer 235 grain semi spitzer bullets for hunting. I am new to the caliber but I am using these bullets with 50 grains of H4895 with an overall cartridge length of 2.80 inches. I dont know the muzzle velocity but with my research I should be right around 2100 fps.

I shoot 50.0 grains of Reloader 15 under a 260 Accubound and it is the most accurate load in my 375 JDJ. The accubond is long and you will most likely need to seat deeper than the bottom of the case neck. You will just need to check this in your particular barrel. Also work up to this load since your seating depth my be shorter than mine. With his load I get 2000 fps. It works fine on hogs but I have not shot a deer with it. Nosler states Min. 1700 fps for expansion.

I am using 50 grains of H4895 and my overall cartridge length is 2.80 inches. I am shooting three bullets at sefenty five yards off sand bags and getting 3/4 inch groups or less. I have had the gun for only a week so I have not got to stretch the yards out yet but I am impressed so far.
