Since its Christmas Day I`am sure some of you guys got what they wanted and some did not....If Santa granted you a wish of any gun you wanted, with all the bells and whistles, what would it be? Mine would be a custom Redhawk made by Ron Power, for the Ruger Collectors Association, a number of years ago. He installed a 5 1/2" slab sided heavy barrel topped with a full length sight assembly. This was packed in a wood case. Only 200 were made.....

Readings the posting from Dan, Ernie and Steve regarding the bolt action pistols, a nice rear grip XP in maybe 375JDJ or possibly a 7MM X 444 would work. Not really interested in the 1000 yard shots just the idea of the XP.

a glock 35 long slide in 40sw

a ruger mkII with 10" barrel

a ruger 22lr charger

a ruger flat top in 44 special. one in the future ss model will work!

I don't even know what direction I would go. Would probably be a big bore revolver, maybe a custom SRH in 475 Linebagh.

As it is I got the one gun related gift I asked for this year.
My 2010 membership to the local range. Kinda nice because it's literaly a 5 minute drive from the house to the gate.

Well I still havent got a scope for the SRH. After getting it scoped, I would like to get a Bisley Blackhawk also in .44 which will not wear glass. I usually get quarterly safety bonus checks at work that I use for my gun purchases but this year I had to use them for the family. Still money well spent! Maybe next year!

I'd just like a 5-hole Ruger Bisley in .480 Ruger, with a 6" barrel. Stainless would be nice, and with Ruger scope mounting similar to the SRH.

Rod, too.

Guess I was fortunate. I got my Christmas wish, a E A Brown custom 15", 6.5BRM with dies and brass.

I would be happy with a custom 5 shot SRH from someone that was so tight and perfectly timed that it shot 1/2" at 100 yds. in a 454C. Not too much to ask is it?

HS Precision XP-100 in 6.5-284 - Night Force FFP Scope and 1000 rounds of Lapula brass Dies and enough bullets to sink a ship.

I dont think that is too much to ask

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

I'll keep it simple....FA 97, 45 LC with 5 1/2" tube, black micarta grips, and trijicon dot sight.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

since I'm building my own big bores now it would be a long gun and there are a couple, one would be a Doug Turnbull 1886 Winchester in 475 Turnbull and the other would be a Shiloh Sharps Quilgley in 45-120. I've often thought I would enjoy BPCR shooting since I've never really had a desire to get into any other competitive shooting sport even with handguns although the cowboy action shooting looks like it could be fun also.

I should mention none of my Christmas presents had anything to do with firearms though. My wife and I decided a long time back that we buy our own Christmas presents during the year so we just concentrate on our daughter and my other 4 kids from my first marriage. I did however get a jacket and tee shirt with the emblems and # of my submarine from many years ago which was no small feat as it was decomissioned in 98.

I agree with runngun, but I know I can't shoot as good as they can. Shoot I'd be happy being able to shoot half as good as Ernie's son Eric!

Why Rod I had no idea you were a squid! Maybe we'll see you in an article by Gary or John Taffin soon?! I'd love to have my father's 3 screw 41 worked over by Jim Stroh (Alpha Precision) or Dave Clemens. Or a FA 5 1/2" Mod 97 in 41 to give him. It would really get him going. I'd like either a FA 83 in 454 w/a 9" barrell to go w/my 7 1/2". (1 scoped, 1 not), Or one of Ruger's SS 45 Colt Bisley Hunter models to match my 5 1/2" model. One of my Marlins converted to a "take down" by Wild West Guns. Nothing too grand!
OK OK a 6" FA 83 in 50 WE would be slick too. Because it's big!

I would like a Reader five shot 38 Super. It is a nice size woods gun on a single six frame,(he converts the 32 Mag bisley). Since it has fully supported chambers you can get .357 velocity with a light flat shooting platform. Only $1095 above the cost of the handgun.

This is easy as I have wanted one since FA announced they were working on it.

Model 97 in 22/327, premier grade, micarta grips, 10" octagon barrel, scope mount with 2.5~8 Leupold scope, leather holster, trigger job, brass and dies. The works.

Hmmmm...I did get a gun for Christmas that I really wanted for some time, but since we're playing...

Another FA! A model 83 in .44 Mag with micarta grips, octagon barrel (Magnaported), trigger job, and have Mike Barranti make a custom holster for me. And oh yeah, I almost forgot the glass! VX-III 2.5x8, held securely in a T'SOB mount.

I better start being really good
