This is my do-all, kill anything favorite single shot handgun perched in one of my favorite hunting spots. It's a XP-100 that's been fully tricked by Kirby Allen.

And being unfortunate enough to be legal game and standing within 1/3 of a mile will generally make you famous on the internet.

Other than the Encore's I posted elsewhere. These are my favorite single shots. The Striker has a magazine for 2 cartridges, but I use it mostly as a single shot.

I'm not a single shot guy but I always liked the look of those mid-gripped laminated XP's. Only one I've ever fired was an original in 221 Fireball on a badger & a couple pheasants. NICE shooting Slinger! Hawkeye's is real purty!

Here is my current favorite for 1,000 yard matches.
Tricked XP, Brux barrel, chambered in 6.5-284. Very accurate rig, even at one thousand yards. Also made my longest pd connection-1800 yards with this set-up, except it had the Krieger barrel on it then.

I have a couple of MOA's and they shoot quite well also:
First is Erik with his buck and the second is a cold bore three-shot group at 500 yards off of a bipod.

I will post a pic of the 338AX tomorrow with the Huskemaw scope on it.

Here's a Contender wearing a 14" 30-30 AI barrel.
It's sitting on a little 8pt I shot last November here in Wisconsin.

CG,
I think the 30-30AI is one of the better cartridges for the Contender/G-2 platform-Good shooting!

Pics aren't great (didn't want to go outside), but here is some of the 338 Allen Xpress (338 Lapua Magnum Improved) with the 5-20 LR Huskemaw Scope.
Bullets: 265 grain Henson Aluminum Tip Ultra Low Drag and the other is a 250 NAB.

It better be..I will start shoot one and clean beginning next week.
I have a few 250 grain NAB's that Kirby sent me and then I will use some odd lot 300 grain SMK's for the barrel break-in.
Plan to use Retumbo with the 300's and H-1000 with the 265 HAT's.

Holland's stocks the 338 Lapua brass: 541.439.5155
Kirby Allen can take care of all of the rest.

Bingo,
Always been an odd-duck

Truth be known, the recoil from some of the more intense revolvers is far greater than anything I shoot in my braked specialty handguns.

Yea Ernie thats what I'm talkin about. I've seen glimpses of your new .338 Allen Xpress on another sight and it looks and sounds awesome! It makes me want to save my pennys then give Kirby a call.

I believe it Ernie. My single shot experience is fairly limited. A couple Contenders (357 Max, 222, 44, 7-30, 45-70), 1 Lone Eagle (7-08), 1 Competitor (30-06), & an XP in 221. Not all mine mind you. A bad experience w/Bullberry & Iowa is straight wall cases only. Put me into the revolver class after that. A Competeitor or XP are on my "some day" list. Love looking at these pics until then.

FWIW-I would rather have a MOA than a Competitor, but that is just me.
