I was out doing some shooting with a S&W M66 357 the other day, I went to release the cylinder and couldn't...the cylinder release thumbpiece was gone. It's a good thing the snow was crusted over, it was laying on top of the snow 4 or 5 feet behind me, complete with the nut, and the sheared off stud.

The bolt is about a $22.00 part.
Has anyone ever replaced one, is it a drop in or does it need to be fitted. I haven't had a chance to pop off the sideplate and take a look.

Thanks

You may have to do some slight fitting, but you should be able to replace it with little trouble.
