All this shooting going on someone must be cleaning a gun.
What do you use as bore cleaners I like #9 BR
If the gun is new to me of real dirty I will use Wipeout before shooting it. It seems to get almost all the copper.
What about molly???
If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

I've been using #9 for 40 years and see no reason to change.
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

#9 here too. Let it sit a week in the bore and just see what comes out.

You clean your guns? I mean besides the WD-40 wipe down?
Actually until recently I admit I was not in the habit of cleaning barrels like I should. But I was also not shooting as much then either.
Hoppes for the bulk, but I have used a couple of different copper removers for significant fouling.
Trying to get better, especially with bench projects in the works

Outers Foaming Bore Cleaner for the jacketed bullet guns. Ed's Red for the cast bullet guns. I wipe all the guns down with Ed's Red when not in use.

I used to just use #9 but the guys at Nosler turned me on to the Barnes CR-10 a few years ago. It was kind of funny because they kept it in a back room since it was manufactured by a competitor but out of everything I've tried it seems to work the best on Copper and Moly and it does a good job on lead too. For in between major cleanings I use a bore snake with Break Free CLP and I use Break Free Powder Blaster for hosing out actions as it does not stink near as bad as any of the other aerosol action cleaners I use, it actually has a citrus additive. You can also use Brake Cleaner from the auto parts house and I recommend going with the Non Chlorinated stuff and it seems like napa used to have one under their lable that had the same citrusy type smell as the Powder Blaster.
I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them. John Wayne-The Shootist
