Hello, I was wondering if anybody had experience reloading the newish Barnes Buster bullet in the 454 Casull. I was looking online and couldn't really find any info on the subject except the short description Barnes has put out in their catalog. I was needing reloading data if anyone has it...thanks!

I just picked up a box of the 45cal 325gr busters and the only reload data I could find was for Swifts 325gr jacketed A-frame for the Casull. These 3 max loads were from Hodgdon from a 9" brl:
325gr Swift HP 26.0grs H-110 for 1545FPS
325gr Swift HP 24.0grs Lil`Gun for 1558FPS
325gr Swift HP 26.0grs 296 for 1545FPS

Let me know how you make out. The 325gr Buster bullet looks like it could go through anything. James

I knew they had come out with one for the rifles in .458, but didn't know about the .452! Should be a winner.

Thanks James! I use H-110 in my handguns so I may start with that. I was planning around 24 grains to be safe but who knows, 110 can be fickle. Once I get around to chronographing and accuracy testing it I'll post the results for sure.

Yeah it looks like a great bullet, I have used hard cast bullets with some success but it seems like hardness to velocity ratio changes results so I am thinking that the copper jacket will make things more constant. I also am very partial to Barnes in both my rifles and revolvers since they always seem to get the job done and are very accurate. With the Barnes XPB I can hit clay birds stuck in the dirt at 200 yards very consistantly and balloons at that range are a sure thing.

Well got a response from barnes, apparently they haven't published any data as of yet:

HELLO,
I only have data for the 250 gr. at this time. See Attached for available
data.
