picked up a encore, 30-06,burris 2x7 scope,great condition.


I have shot encores in .223,308,22-250,500 linebaugh,454 casull and .270, so where in the recoil dept is this going to fit in? Is there any factory ammo that works best in these? lighter or heavier bullets?I plan on using it for hogs and deer, most likely 100 yds or less, with occasional longer shots. Any other advice? other than lighten the trigger, its kinda heavy..

Recoil should be comparable to the .270 with similar bullet weights.

KRal is right on! "I" will not shoot am 06 case in an Encore without a break though...

My 338-06 is on a rifle encore configuration so that don't count. I have shot the 30-06 pistol and didn't think it kicked much at all.

taking it out today, hopefully sight it in and get a hog with it tonight, will update.

I have a 16" 338-06 Encore pistol that I shot with out a brake, it is not too bad.

Took it out yesterday, put 16 rnds through it sighting in and shooting stuff. Recoil wasn't too bad,not exactly pleasant,but not horrible. Went hog hunting and saw a smaller boar but couldn't get a shot thru the brush,try again next weekend.
