I have a super blackhawk and would like to have a different front sight. I read about front sights that have gold inlay bars for different yardage but cant seem to find any online. Is this something ppl just do themselves?

I have heard of people doing it before, I just don't who makes the sight. PM being sent.

I think you could DIY if you had the tools and gold inlay. You might want to practice on something first. I know Elmer Keith had a sight like that but it was for long range, not nesseceraly short range like 50 or 75 yards. Mellonhead had his FA sight done by David Clements. He has a picture posted of it over on SP. Look in the revolver section under the post "Gold Bars in front sight". He also comments about the bars distance. They are set up so they are out of the way for your standard hold inside 100 yards. Then use them as a reference for 100-600 yards.
