does anyone make a grip for a ruger bisley with a filler behind the trigger guard? my gun bashes hell out of my knuckle when i shoot hunting loads. a glove helps .pachmayr dosent make grips for this model yet ,wish they did. have pahmayrs on my contenders 45-70 358jdj takes the bite out of them.

No that I'm aware of, but Dustin Linebaugh makes a fine pair of grips to fit Bisleys. I have a pair on my .500 and do not suffer the Bisley knuckle.

I'll second that as I have shot hitmans bisley and others stocked by Dustin with no knuckle issues.

I'm surprised at that. I've only shot heavies in mine but never felt any knuckle bashing. What caliber are you using?

I'm with Bingo...even before I put a break on my 475L w/Bisley grip, I shot several hundred rounds thru it with no knuckle bashing.

It could be your grip style....just a thought.

It sounds like a grip issue, not the gun's but your's. I have many Bisleys, and run them hot, and have never had a problem with knuckle. Try moving your hand down the grip a little.

My bisley is a .45 colt. I hold a high grip and my knuckle touches the trigger guard .The only way to get away from it is to hold lower on the grip and i dont like to do that.I have a blackhawk with custom grips that has a filler behind the guard,also in .45 colt that dosent hurt me.I know the filler lowers my grip on the gun, but you have grip filling your hand.
When I lay the two guns together the grips are almost identical in shape ,except for the filler behind the guard.so I have been shooting the bisley grip shape for 30 years or so on the blackhawk. May be that pachmayr will eventualy produce a grip for it, hope so! thanks guys

June, Herrett makes one that does just that called the Single Action Trooper. No longer listed but they told me they'll still make it. It works well on Blackhawks/SBH's. I don't know if it's ever been done on a Bisley. The gent at Klamath River Wood Works responded to me in an e-mail & says he'll make just about anything. Pictures are pretty but I've never had his work.

I have tried to contact Hogue grips 2 times but so far have not had a return call . I left a message On wood shop foremans machine with number and what i wanted done both times.Secretary very helpful,shop foreman not so much so.Iknow he is a busy man but ? So I get out my wood and start my own version of what I want.The grips have a filler behind the trigger guard which solved the problem of the bashed knuckle very well.I know I am not the only one that has this problem.So if anyone else suffers bisley or blackhawk knuckle, it can be fixed.Blackhawk grips are available from hogue or pacamayr ,but bisley grips you have to make yourself.

Maybe you can sweet talk 6shot into making you a set of grips.
I know he makes grips but I'm not sure what they go for...I'd hate to speak for him.

I have a friend with the same problem.He has large hands that get whacked by the back of the trigger gaurd on the Bisley.He was looking for the same thing.Have you called Eagle grips?They might do a custom grip for you.

Thanks guys they look like what I need .The ones I made look like the smooth grips but sized to fit my hand.If you make a few sets of custom grips for yourself,you get a better idea why they charge what they do.Its not something you do in a couple of hours.thanks again for all the imput.

Bingo Tried Herott decided it was easier and quicker to make my own.Seems I always have to do things the hard way ,made two sets.
First set were not pretty at all but they told me what I needed to know ,they worked.Second set turned out much better,hope I can figure out how to post picture.The eagle grips looked pretty good ,just more than I care to spend right now on grips. Gone back to school after 40 years,plant closed so have to watch my pennies.

Sounds like a cottage industry in the making. Can't wait to see the pics. Did Herrett say would make them for a Bisley?

Bingo I have posted some pictures of my grips and crossdraw holster that I made on the bragging board .Hope you like them .
Holster starting to show some patina(fancy word for wear)after couple of years, but its honest wear gotten on the hunt.Just makes it look better to me.Not braggin just could not figure out how to get them to here.

Saw those pics. They're not bad. You could probably sell some of those & leather w/elbow grease if you tried.
