I was at F.A's website and stumbled acoss their new single shot. I was figuring they would venture into a double action over a single shot. Im a revolver guy, ... anyone gonna sell off thier pile of TC barrels to start over??? haha ... should'a did the double action!

I'll be keeping my T/C's. I also just picked up a Competitor....really liking it and the action is said to be stronger than a bolt gun.....hard to beat that for the price.

I am getting rid of my Contender stuff, and I am going to get a FA SS.
Of course, the FA has the strength level of the Encore or greater.

The cost is one thing, if it (FA S/S) weren't so danged ugly I might think about it but no, I'll keep shootin' the T/C's and bolt guns.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

have you seen one in the flesh?
I don't think they are ugly.
I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
The other aspect is the function, and the strength of the FA.

They look rather manly to me! It's funny...I was wondering to myself the other day why someone hadn't made a revolver with a pistol grip and then FA makes a pistol with a revolver grip!

I ordered mine last fall. Still waiting for deivery. Expect it within the next month, hopefully.

But I am keeping all of the rest too. LOL

Quote from: 240gr&up: "haha ... should'a did the double action!"

???

Not sure what you mean.

I like the looks of the FA SS and if I can afford one some day I would buy one in a long range caliber for both hunting and long range target shooting.

I think he is saying that he would have rather seen FA make a DA revolver instead of the single shoot.

I'm into function over form, but I gotta agree with both s4s4u & Ernie.
s4s4u is right, it's ugly.
Ernie is right, beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
I'm thinking I won't beholdiner it :-)

I am guessing it will flat shoot though.

If I was starting from scratch I would give it a lot of consideration! As of right know I am very happy with what I have and I am going to dance with the one that brought me.

I was thinking about this a couple weeks ago... Why Freedom Arms need to make a double action "hunting" revolver:

Ruger Redhawk= nice looking, bad trigger.
Ruger Super Redhawk= ugly gun (better scoped), nice trigger.
S&W= best trigger, can't load as hot as a ruger (not talking 460 & 500)
Taurus= save your box to send back for repairs.

Even though I'm a Ruger Man, I think Freedom Arms would make one hell-of-a Double action revolver. I'm surprised more people didn't agree?

Of course, Im a cheap (alright... I think it's refered to as "poor" when it's not by choice) bastard, ... and the Freedom Arms Double Action Revolver would just be one more thing I could only drool over at Cabelas.
