what is or would be your choice of scope on a 15in ported 375jdj barrel on a contender frame for mustly timber hunting out to 100yards?

I have a Burris 2-7x on my Competitor in 376 Syeyr and am putting a Bushnell elite 2-6x on my Competitor in 416 Barnes. You won't go wrong with either choice.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

I have a 4X Leupold on my .375JDJ. My 45-70 wears a 2-6X Bushnell Trophy in three Leupold Rifleman rings....lasted several hundred rounds with no problem.

The 4x Leupold would defiantly be a good pick. I have a 2.5-8x Leupold on my 375 JDJ and I mostly use it in the type of hunting you described. I like the extra power when I need it.

4X Leupold on my 375 JDJ.
It's more important where you hit 'em, than what you hit 'em with.

I used a 2X Leupold on my 375JDJH to kill a 6x6 bull at 175yards on Colorado. I use 4x Leuies a lot too. I'm a fan of fixed pwer on most of bigger game handguns but I do have variables on some. I usually try and figure what is best for the ranges I expect--I usually guess wrong. It basically comes down to presonal preference. All of my staking 44's wear a 2 or 4x Leupold. Most of my TC's wear variables--except teh 375 JDJ, 375 H&H and my 416 Rigby. It is just my opinion and what works for me.
